IBC Research Exemption Forms

Researchers who believe their recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid research falls under Section III-F of the NIH Guidelines should submit the IBC Research Exemption Form to the Research Compliance Office for review and decision. Exemption criteria and non-exempt experiment summaries are also available for reference.

All information will be reviewed by the IBC Chair and an IBC Committee Member with related research expertise before an exempt determination is confirmed. An exemption is finalized when the PI receives a signed Research Exemption Form from both the IBC and Research Compliance Office.
